Frank Ocean Master List Header Featured

Frank Ocean is an artist whose work transcends that of conventional mediums. Of course he has a body of musical work released via standard avenues (LPs, music videos, etc.), but there's so much more beyond that which makes collecting it all extraordinarily difficult. To reach completionist level status in the world that is Frank Ocean, hours upon hours of meticulous Googling, archiving, and cataloging is required. That sort of behavior has, until this point, been reserved for only the most dedicated. No more.

Below is the complete list of things a Frank Ocean super-fan must have in order to earn their badge. We've made it easier for you to find, reference, or share the fullest collection of Frank Ocean-related media known to the Internet. There will not be links to download anything that is officially available for sale. We recommend that you purchase copies of Frank's records to keep your boy fed on non-frosted Pop Tarts®.

The master list is broken down by headings and subheadings to narrow your search. A full table of contents is available on desktop platforms as you browse.

The Lonny Breaux Collection is an unofficial compilation of songs by Frank Ocean. The songs were recorded prior to adoption of the Frank Ocean moniker, there for attributed to Christopher 'Lonny' Breaux. As a songwriter and scratch vocalist, Breaux recorded a large number of demos that were leaked out over time and collected by fans on the KanyeToThe forum. Not all of the songs included were written by Frank and not all of the songs are sung by Frank. They are, however, one or the other.

Notable tracks include “Surprise Ending” and “Quickly”, were commercially released by Brandy and John Legend respectively.

Following the release of the collection, Frank said:

let’s get this out in the open. the only songs that i, myself, frank ocean, have ever released are…’pyrite’, ‘acura integurl’ & of course the songs included on ‘nostalgia, ultra’. all other songs are on the internet as a result of record industry email hacks/leaks that happened some years back. several of these songs i had no hand in writing. i only laid reference vox on em because i was being paid. the rest are incomplete ideas, reference songs that were sent out for placement on other artists. records that were never intended to represent me.

The collection saw several iterations over the years until settling into the tracklist provided here. The undocumented, RARE. collection above exists as a companion to this work and includes the rest of his work prior to Nostalgia, ULTRA. as is known today.

Unreleased, Unheard, and Quite Possibly Unrecorded

2011

"Journey (Bounce)"

  • Performed once on November 5, 2011 at The House Of Blues in New Orleans.

"No Such Thing As White Jesus" (Nas prod. Hit Boy)

2013

"California"

  • Performed on his 2013 European tour.

"Versace" Freestyle

2014

"Pure Imagination"

  • In March of 2014, Chipotle sued Frank Ocean for failing to deliver a cover of "Pure Imagination" that was to be used in an advertisement for the brand. Frank responded by writing Chipotle a check for the advance they gave him where he wrote "FUCK OFF" in the reason line. In the end, Fiona Apple delivered a hauntingly beautiful rendition of the song for the advertisement which proved quite popular. It's unlikely we will ever hear Frank's rendition, if it was ever recorded at all.

2015

Alycia Bellamy posted a video on Snapchat from a recording studio wherein you could hear Frank singing a cover of John Lennon's "Jealous Guy." The ten second snippet was saved. If the full song was recorded, it has still yet to surface.

2016

In January of 2016, Hodgy Beats posted a Snapchat video with a new Frank Ocean clip in the background. The track is "Glory" which appears on Hodgy's debut album Fireplace:TheNotTheOtherSide, but Frank's parts were not used on the final track.

A second Hodgy Beats snippet was posted and saved. It's undetermined if the clip features Frank or Hodgy singing.

"Easy" (BDC Issue 1, p.185)

  • This unreleased Frank Ocean song may or may not have been recorded, but the lyrics were featured in Boys Don't Cry amongst the tracks that made up Blonde. Here is a scan of the lyrics as they appeared in the magazine.

His novel

  • Story behind Frank's possible book-in-progress.

"White Ferrari (Feat. Playboi Carti)"

  • Tweet confirming the cutting room collab.

Booty Club (Malay Ho song/album)

2017

"Break Down"

  • MusicMafia.to leaked a snippet of an unreleased Frank Ocean track. They auctioned the full track out in mid 2017. It's unknown who, if anyone, purchased the track.

"Night.s" (alternate verses)

  • MusicLeaks.net leaked a snippet of unreleased material from the "Night.s" recording sessions. The song was held for a $1000 ransom.

2019

2020

  • “These Days” was set to act as a replacement for the scrapped Skepta collaboration, “Little Demon.” A small number of copies of this 7” was sent to customers in the NYC area by mistake, but quickly reclaimed by the blonded team before it could appear online.

2023

  • “These Days” in its entirety.

  • Also leaked was a music video for a track called “Changes" which featured Rosalia. The audio that accompanied it was a reference which lacked much of the lead vocals in the mix.

Over the years, Frank’s music has appeared in film and television in a number of ways. Songs have appeared in soundtracks, mid-episode backing tracks, and even the odd cover performance by an actor on screen. This is a work in progress list of song appearances in television and film. Forrest Gump Grammy Visuals, 2013

On February 10, 2013, Frank Ocean performed at the 55th Grammy Awards. The song selection was "Forrest Gump," which was paired with a multi-paneled video display that invoked the feeling of Tom Hanks long run. The culminated in a integration of live performance and recorded video.

The performance did not go as planned, with sound issues apparently the cause behind the live misfire. Those interested in what that performance would have looked like had it gone well might be interested in the rehearsal video from days before which is objectively one of his best live performances of the track to date.

Both videos can be scoped out in the TV appearances section below.

There are occasionally skits and instrumental clips interspersed between tracks. The following collection is a work in progress.

Blonded producer Vegyn also dropped an influencer mix on BBC's Benji B Show in May of 2017 that fits the same vibe as blonded and shares some similar tracks but without any of the blonded tags.

In December of 2017, contained within an update to Grand Theft Auto V, a new radio station appeared titled blonded Los Santos 97.8FM. This constitutes as an auxiliary episode of blonded.

In November of 2018, after blonded was thought to be retired, three Midterm specials were released on voting day in the United States. No new music from Frank Ocean was featured. The numbered episodes returned in fall of 2019.

The show can be listened to at any time on Apple Music. If you're not an Apple Music subscriber, perhaps this link would suit you.
